Founded in 1935, Schuster's Services, LLC, (SS) is a third generation, locally owned company. Today, with our fleet of water trucks ranging from 3100 gallons to 9400 gallons, we proudly serve St. Croix, in the U.S.V.I., providing reliable water delivery for homes, hotels, apartment complexes, commercial businesses, agricultural, maritime and industrial needs. SS also provides bulk water services for disaster and emergency support. Our commitment to quality and customer satisfaction sets us apart in the industry.

Our History

​

Schuster’s Services was founded in 1935, on St. Croix, by Eugene M. Schuster, father of Lowell O. Schuster and grandfather of Kenny D. Schuster. During this time, SS was instrumental in cutting half of the scenic road for vehicular traffic and also did dredging at Green Key and Salt River. In 1942, Eugene M. Schuster transitioned SS to a water well drilling company. The small, three-man operation company started with a single well-drilling rig and one pickup truck.

Over the years, Schuster’s Services became a trusted name in water well drilling throughout the Virgin Islands and the surrounding region. The company drilled all of the water wells for Hess Oil Virgin Islands Corp. (now known as Ocean Point Terminals and Port Hamilton Refining and Transportation), Martin Marietta (now known as Renaissance Park), and approximately 90% of the Government-owned wells on St. Croix. We also drilled the elevator shafts throughout St. Croix and completed extensive drilling projects on St. Thomas, St. John, and St. Maarten.

In 1965, during the development of Fountain Valley, Schuster’s Services was contracted to drill all of the water wells required for the golf course and its surrounding facilities. To meet the demands of the project, we purchased a second drilling rig and a truck equipped with a small water tank to supply water for drilling operations.

It was during these drilling projects that an unexpected opportunity led us into a new line of business. While working in the field, a local farmer would occasionally ask if we could deliver water to his farm for his livestock. At this point, we recognized the growing need for reliable water truck delivery services on St. Croix and shortly afterwards, we purchased our first dedicated water delivery truck. From that single truck, the business continued to grow, eventually expanding to a fleet of as many as four tractor-trailers and six smaller water trucks. This marked the beginning of what is now the focal point of Schuster's Services—our water truck delivery business. ​​​​​​​​​​​​​

​In 1978, we recognized the significant amount of bottled water being brought into St. Croix and saw an opportunity to provide a locally produced alternative. From that vision, our sister company, Blue Mountain Water, was established as a bottled water business. We began with 5-gallon bottles and later expanded our product line to include 1-gallon bottles. What started with a single delivery truck has grown into a fleet of four trucks serving customers throughout St. Croix. Today, Blue Mountain Water can be found in offices, grocery stores, pharmacies, and businesses across the island.

Both Schuster's Services and Blue Mountain Water are located on the same plot of land- 18 Estate Pearl and 19 Estate Pearl respectively, in Christiansted, St. Croix.

Today, Schuster’s Services continues to build on the foundation established by Eugene M. Schuster more than eight decades ago, providing dependable water truck delivery services throughout St. Croix.​
